Sermartelli's woodcut device on t.p. The 3 full-page woodcuts depict the Piazza della Signoria with Giambologna's statue in place, and the statue from two points of view. Historiated and decorated initials. The 25 historiated initials (ca. 42 x 42 mm.) are from an alphabet of voided Roman capitals, each embellished with a Bible figure whose name begins with the given letter (thus Moses accompanies M, etc.). Head and tail pieces.
Poems in praise of the sculptor and the statue by Bernardo Vecchietti, who commissioned it, and others.
Dedication to Vecchietti signed by the compiler, Michelagnolo Sermartelli.
