- Summary
-
Feedback applied to a radiometer will stabilize its gain. Two improved versions of an earlier feedback radiometer system have been built and tested. One used a mechanical attenuator, and the other an electronic attenuator. The following improvements were incorporated: faster responding and more accurate servo-driven noise source, a current-source driver for the ferrite switch, more versatile rf circuitry, improved coherent detector, and transistorized circuitry. The response of both servo loops proved to be fast enough and linear enough for almost any radiometer application. (Author).
