- Summary
-
The radiation-induced alkylation of propylene and isobutane while adsorbed on silica and ferric oxide-treated silica gel has been investigated. The radiolytic yields of various products formed as a function of temperature and the degree of coverage on the gel (expressed as electron per cent) are recorded. Some of the factors that appear to govern the radiolysis in the adsorbed phase are discussed.
