The name Yarington is perhaps fictious. The play may be an amalgamation of two earlier plays by Day, Haughton, and Chettle--"The tragedy of Thomas Merry" and "The orphan's tragedy," recorded in Henslowe's diary, but now lost. cf. Camb. hist. of Eng. lit., v. 5, p. 362-363; Dict. nat. biog.
