"This is a strong letter by Henri d'Orleans to Louis XIII to protest the conduct of Concini. (The Duc de Longueville, 1595-1663, was a legitimate prince of France. He was chosen to lead the French delegation in the talks that led to the Treaty of Westphalia that ended the Thirty Years War.) He also writes a protest to accusation that he has committed the crime of "lese- majeste""--French Political Pamphlets Digital Collection, Brigham Young University.
