"Attributed to Francois Langlois, sieur de Fancan (Lindsay and Neu) and also to Daniel du Plessis (Bib. Nat. Cat. Gen.) In 1624, Richelieu had only one rival, Charles, Marquis de Vieuville. When La Vieuville committed some blunders in his dealings with financial circles, a pamphleteering campaign was launched against him.
