- Summary
-
"This guide was prepared as a joint effort of the Montana Council of Mathematics Teachers and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. It was designed to be only a guide; it is not a prescriptive, nor is it a complete course of study; rather, it suggests ideas, activities and materials to enhance mathematics education in kindergarten" (first unnumbered page). This "inventory of pre-mathematical skills may be useful to the kindergarten teacher. It may administered individually or in small groups through a school year and kept as a record of each child's mathematical learnings. During the year the average kindergartner should have experience with and show some facilities in these areas" (leaf 1).
