Archibald (Archie) Nathaniel Jenks was born on 14 October 1889 in Coaticook, Québec and committed suicide in Montréal on 29 July 1938. In early 1915, while studying dentistry at McGill University, he enlisted in the Great War. He served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps No. 3 Canadian General Hospital (McGill). He later transferred to the Royal Flying Corps 20th Squadron in March 1917.
Black and white photograph (14.9 x 20.2 cm) captures seven peasant women, some wearing white bonnets, collecting hay in an open field overlooking hills in far background. Photograph in protective glass cover, with brown matting (about 4.8 cm on sides and about 4.8 cm at top and base) framed in brown wood (about 1.3 cm wide). Caption printed in white ink on matting at base. Mounting board consists of two thick cardboards held by small nails. Includes 2 metal hooks for hanging.
