Huske also published "A new and accurate map of North America, etc." which is sometimes found tipped into the quarto editions." The second London edition bears the postscript: "The rest of this work will be published with all possible dispatch with an accurate map of the country, showing the rights of Great Britain, France and Spain."--Lande.
Marginal notes.
Head and tail pieces, factorium initial.
Dodsley's published second edition of Huske's pamphlet "with emendations" in 1755 contains: "A new and accurate map of North America (wherein the Errors of all preceding British, French and Dutch Maps, respecting the rights of Great Britain, France & Spain, & the Limits of each of His Majesty's Provinces, are Corrected) Humbly inscribed to the Honorable Charles Townshend one of the Right Honorable Commissioners for Executing the Office of Lord High Admiral of Great Britain &c by his most Obliged, most Obedient and Very Humble Servant, Huske. (Tho: Kitchin sculp.). Published for the Present state of North America &c. and sold by R. & I. Dodsley in Pall Mall 1755." A simplied version of John Mitchell's map (Matthew H. Edney's "A publishing history of John Mitchell's Map of North America, 1755-1775 in Cartographic perspectives, no. 50, fall 2007).
Part 2 was never published, but the map referred to on p. 88 was published separately in 1755 by Dodsley. Cf. Higgs.
Table of contents covers eight chapters, but part 1 contains chapters 1-3 only.
