Full bound brown contemporary sheep, double gilt fillets on covers, rolled design on board edges black title and volume numbering label on volume II, labels lacking on volume I, marbled endpapers; rubbed, gilt spines worn and spine back strip partially detached on volume II, some light marginal discoloration and a few leaves extracted, bumped corners.
Pagination: Tome premier: 200 pages, 7 unnumbered pages, 7 unnumbered blank leaves (105 titles); tome second: 199 pages, 11 unnumbered pages, 4 unnumbered blank leaves (99 [plus 2] titles).
Written in an elegant hand with flourishes on the initials, with handwritten sequential page numbers; margins ruled in pencil; three pages at the end of tome second preceding the Table and two pages following it are in a different hand and the two titles are not included in the Table.
Part of the J. Patrick Lee Voltaire Collection acquired by the library in 2013: item number 1249; acquired by Lee from James Cummins Bookseller (New York, New York) in 2004 (see Lee Collection inventory binder for this item number.
