Contains a description of the first Du Pont expedition to Canada in 1603 in which Champlain took part. (leaves 416-424); leaves 505-506 contain a brief report on DeMont's voyage to Canada in 1604, which is not contained in Champlain's.
Contains details of voyages to the East and West Indies, and to Canada, 1598-1604; including the expedition of Pont-Grave in 1603, as told by Champlain--Lande.
Numerous page numbering errors especially leaves 209 through to 215 (leaves 209, 211, 213 numbered twice and 215 numbered three times; counting the last leaf numbered 215 as an additional leaf corrects leaf numbering); leaf 24 numbered 12, leaf 204 numbered 104 and leaf 217 numbered 117, and leaf 293 numbered 393.
Leaves printed on both sides.
Title vignettes; head and tail pieces; initials.
An engraved title page, with the date 1605, is prefixed and signed J. de Weert.
"Divisée en sept livres"; each of the seven books covers one year with summaries at the beginning.
