Summary

This is a study of practice on item statistics. Some specific practice effects were found. These were not large enough to be troublesome in selecting items for a new test from a pool of experimental items. If experimental items are protected by initial practice items and final time-filling items, most of the practice effects can be controlled. Arithmetic reasoning with formula responses as used in this study were found to be suitable for moderate to difficult tests of airmen aptitude.
