Summary

This Final Technical Report contains details of all technical work accomplished and information gained in the performance of the U.S. Air Force Contract No. F33615-68-C-1229 for the period from 1 January 1968 to 31 December 1970 in a continuous systematic program on the thermophysical properties of materials involving the literature search, acquisition, review, codification, classification, organization, and data extraction, compilation, critical evaluation, correlation, analysis, synthesis, the preparation of tables of original data presenting the available experimental data and information, and the final preparation of internally consistant tables of critically evaluated "best data" referred to as "Tables of Recommended Reference Values". The work reported on consistes of both data tables projects and scientific documentation efforts. The data tables projects are on thermal conductivity, specific heat, thermal radiative properties (emittance, reflectance, absorptance, transmittance), thermal diffusivity, and thermal linear and volumetric expansion of elements, ferrous and nonferrous alloys, intermetallic, semiconducting, and nonmetallic compounds, cermets, ceramics, mixtures composites, systems, polymers, etc., and on the thermal conductivity, specific heat, and viscosity of fluids and fluid mixtures. Property data are presented in both tabular and graphical forms, with accompanying tables describing the specifications, characterizationsm, and measurement conditions of the test specimens for the data. The resulting data tables and graphsare disseminated at large through the 13 volume THERMOPHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF MATTER - THE TPRC DATA SERIES, published commercially.
