520 ‡aExperiments on pressure distribution and heat transfer on a grid simulating a parachute cloth were performed. The porosity of the grid was 25%. A pressurized wind-tunnel served as the flow facility. The average approach of the flow was 134 feet per second. The pressure ratio Pup/Pdown was considered as the main variable and varied from around 11 to 1.45. A transient energy balance was used to calculate local heat transfer. (Author).
