- Summary
-
The effects of dilute organic solvents on the interaction of vinylcyclohexene dioxide (VCD) and trimethoxyboroxine (TMB), two materials used in the development of a rapid-curing epoxy foam system, were investigated and compared with results from previous studies. The reactions were monitored calorimetrically. The results indicated that the TMB-solvent interaction predominates over the TMB-VCD interaction. Of the solvents tested the two materials were most reactive with each other in 1,2-dichloroethane. The results obtained compared favorably with those from previous studies.
