"This report cummarizes the experimental investigation of sulfur removal from the residual solids of the Solvent Refined Coal Process. The residue, called coal minerals, contains various amounts of the ferrous oxide, silica, carbon and alumina. The preferential oxidation technique for sulfur removal was tested on the coal mineral for the oxidation of ferrous sulfide. The process is reviewed and the results reported in the thesis."
