- Note
-
Headpieces and tailpieces depict fragments of sculpture from the Villa Albani.
There is a plate numbered "39 bis" between plates 42 and 43, and one unnumbered plate (captioned "Villa d'Est a Tivoli") before plate 58. The latter may be found as a frontispiece in some copies. "Planche XL bis" found in the plate listings is not a separate plate; its content comprises the lower part of plate 40.
On verso of half-title page: Se vend à Paris, chez les auteurs, au Louvre, P. Didot l'aîné, imprimeur, rue du Pont de Lodi, et les principaux libraires.
Originally issued in 12 parts of 600 copies each, from 1809 to 1813. Bibliographie de l'empire français, vol. 2 (1813) contains entries for the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth installments. Brunet gives dates as 1809-13.
