Illustrations: 57 full-page etchings, comprising illustrated title-page, portrait of Sir Kenelm Digby, the dedicatee, signed VB, author's portrait, "misvre pedali," pike exercises (89 fig. on 34 plates), halberd exercises (4 plates incl. fig. 90-95), and musket exercises (30 fig. on 15 plates). Brunet suggests an unidentified "Bertelli" as the artist. The etching on p. 247 has the date 1620 on one musket and "Pfrem. Bart." on the other.
Complete in one volume, although running title "Prima parte" is used throughout.
