The churches in the association (in 1894) were Black River, Bethsaida, Hornett, Mingo, Coharie, Sevn Mile, Reedy Prong, Oak Forest, and Barby's [i.e. Barbry's] Chapel. The composition of church in the association varies slightly over the years. Beginning in 1953 there were some disputes within the association and several churches were dropped over the next few years. These include Black River, Oak Forest and Corinth. They joined together to form their own Seven Mile Primitive Baptist Association.
