520 ‡aThe equations of motion and total enthalpy are derived for a compressible turbulent boundary layer on an axisymmetric or two-dimensional surface with non-negligible longitudinal curvature. From these equations are derived the integral-momentum, kinetic-energy, and total-enthalpy equations for non-negligible longitudinal curvature. Calculations indicate that if concave curvature increases the skin friction sufficiently separation is delayed although the boundary layer is thickened. Also, an increase in curvature in the direction in which the surface pressure rises acts to hasten separation for concave curvature and delay it for convex curvature. (Author).
