520 3 ‡aA study was made to determine a reliable method for obtaining the specific gravity and absorption capacity of lightweight aggregates whose bulk specific gravity is less than 1.0, so that these values could be used to predict the per cent voids in a lightweight concrete mix. At present, there is no known standard method for determining the specific gravity and absorption capacity of such lightweight aggregates.
