Purporting to narrate the experiences of one George Philips, an Irishman who left home for an extended tour in America, visiting the West Indies, thence through Mexico to St. Louis, where he joined the Lewis and Clark expedition. Philips left the party at Fort Mandan on the return journey and traveled through Canada, and the eastern United States. Probably fictitious. Cf. Howes and Wagner-Camp.
