Plate impressions ca. 19.5 x 26 cm., most bearing "Joannes Strada inuen., Phls Gallæus excud." Several were engraved by Galle as well, others signed by Adriaen Collaert "sculp", some without an engraver's signature.
Plantin printing records indicate transactions with Galle in 1571 and 1581 and again in 1585 which include orders for this title, described as 33 leaves. Cf. Delen.
Historiated engraved t.p. with biblical text in oval and as caption, followed by historiated leaf with port. of "Johannes Stradanus", and a leaf with a dedication signed Joannes Stradius to Cardinal Ferdinando Medici (placing the publication prior to 1587, the year of his ascendancy to the grand ducal title).
