Hagood ends with the plea "soldiers of the brigade ... you have never failed me before. Rally once more to your colors ... first among the foremost in our country's battle."
Includes General Orders no. 2 issued by General Robert E. Lee Feb. 11, 1865 and a message from Headquarters Hardee's Corps issued March 31, 1865 by Lieut. Gen. William Joseph Hardee and T.B. Roy, A.A. Gen'l. The message states that the legal publication of General Orders no. 2 for the Department of South Carolina, Georgia and Florida will be its publication by Hagood "who goes to South Carolina for the purpose of collecting and returning absentees to their commands." Broadside also instructs prisoners on parol furlough who are not exchanged by the end of their furlough to report to Hagood instead of to the parol camp at Richmond.
