Summary: V.E.G.A. (Violence Education and Gang Awareness) was developed by the Illinois State Police to raise awareness about gangs and violence. Its curriculum, which includes teaching conflict resolution skills, is taught by ISP Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) officers and is designed to supplement the DARE curriculum, especially for 5th and 6th graders.
