Description of a festival planned by Conte Gerolamo Graziani, including verses written by him, in celebration of the birth of Francesco II d'Este in 1660. The "macchine" and theater were designed by the architects Gian Giacomo Monti and Baldassare Bianchi. The music was composed by Benedetto Ferrari. The festival involved a strife between Vices and Virtues, or psychomachy.
