Collected engraved ports. of contemporaries by G.-L. Chrétien after drawings by E. Quenedey or J. Fouquet principally, and developed through Chrétien's "physionotrace" device. The resulting engravings are oval or round ca. 5 cm. in diameter and with few exceptions are in profile. Five are presented in three-quarter views. Six are colored, one is printed in bistre. Some are mounted on the leaves. A few are variants of the same port.
