Joseph F. Flagg is named as proprietor in the Massachusetts District copyright statement (slip mounted on verso of title page). Flagg engraved the plates on wood after the steel engravings of the London ed., which was first published in 1808 under title: Anatomical plates of the arteries of of the human body ... with a concise explanation. --cf. Austin 857.
The American edition was prepared under the supervision of J.C. Warren, who improved the references to the plates, revised in part the descriptions of the great arteries, and added the general description of the arteries (p.
