The Circus regius, which consists of sheets from the French ed., was apparently not issued with all copies of the Latin ed.
Signatures: pi1 [ã]1 ẽ1 ĩ1 A1-M1 Q1 S1-Y1 2A1 2C1-2G1 2I1 2L1-2P1 2R1 2T1-3A1 3C1 3E1-3G1. Not included in this statement are the 10 single-page plates of emblems. These have implied (but not printed) signatures and page numbers which figure in the printed sequences; the seven double-page leaves of plates do not (except NO², which is so signed).
Added engraved title page by Gilles Rousselet, with portrait of Louis XIV, whose arms appear on title page Illustrations depicting the procession, costumes, & emblems born by the riders were engraved by Israël Silvestre and François Chauveau. Engraved head- and tail-pieces & initials by Chauveau.
The illustrations are the same as those in the French edition (also Paris, 1670), except that the captions for all save the emblematic devices have been re-engraved in Latin.
