- Summary
-
A single part is usually defined using many different dimensioning and tolerancing methods. This practice puts the inspection process designer on the spot since he should use all of the different inspection methods (surface plate inspection, "go" and "not-go" gages, functional receiver gages, optical chart gages) demanded by the drawing. The inspection proces can be optimized if it becomes a design consideration.
