Vol. 3 has an appendix (not included in the original edition) "Additional notes by Madison for the introduction to his notes of debates in the Federal Convention" (p. 796a-796o); also, a "Special index" (p.797-904)
Vols. 1-3 were published originally in parts, as Appendixes I-V of "Bulletin of the Bureau of Rolls and Library, " no.1, 3, 5, 7 and 9, 1893-97 (no.9 issued 1900) They were reprinted, according to a concurrent resolution passed by the Senate January 24, 1901, and by the House of Representatives February 9, 1901, and issued in a bureau edition and also in the Congressional series, as House doc. 529, 56th Cong., 2d sess.
