Apart from diagrams and tables in Firmicus, the ill. are confined to Aratus's Phaenomenon in Latin with Germanicus Caesar's interpretation. They represent the signs of the zodiac and other constellations, and derive from those in Erhardt Ratdolt's Venice editions of Hyginus' Poeticon astronomicon (1st, 1482).

Edited by Franciscus Niger, whose letter to Ippolito d'Este appears at *2r-*4v.
The 1st part (signatures a-kk), comprising Firmicus's Astronomici, is an exact resetting of that portion of Aldus's 1499 ed. (with different woodcut diagrams and tables). The 2nd part (A-T) is as Aldus 1499, with his colophon on T8r.
For the vol. as a whole Hain (14559) and others use the collective title: Scriptores astronomici veteres.
