- Note
-
Following Catani's text is the funeral oration of Laelius Peregrinus.
Engraved coat of arms of Cardinal Alessandro Peretti Montalto on t.p. Fourteen full-page ill., each of which bears the page number of its position in the vol. The two plates at the end are numbered 23 and 24, and were intended to replace the blank leaf C4, as in the Harvard copy described by Mortimer. They depict the plan and the elevation of Domenico Fontana's catafalque, etched by Girolamo Rainaldi. The remaining 12 are engraved by Francesco Villamena after designs of Jacopo Zucchi, Ventura Salimbeni and Giuseppe Arpino (i.e. Cesari). Woodcut head-pieces and initials.
