- Summary
-
The proton magnetic resonance spectra of the HNO₃-H₂O-Al(NO₃)₃ system indicate that the dissociation of nitric acid is repressed significantly by aluminum nitrate. Values for [alpha], the dissociation constant of nitric acid, obtained from these spectra, are given as a function of aluminum ion concentration and of nitric acid concentration.
