Engraved frontispiece depicting a session of the Council, signed in the plate by I. Fayneau. The paper differs from that of the text, and if I. Fayneau is Giovanni Fayneau, active at Turin in the 2nd half of the 17th century, the frontispiece may come from a later ed. Woodcut head- and tail-pieces, initials.
Present ed. has Aldine-like anchor & dolphin device on t.p. with the date 1629, but lacks place and publisher. Another 1629 ed. has the same device with Geneva, P. Aubert, and a 3rd lacks the device but has Geneva, P. Chouët. See BN.
