Belcher sites a letter from Pugin to Bloxam of 12 January 1841 referring to "a new edition of my Contrasts which will be published this spring. I am very glad of this opportunity of correcting the original text and adding a vast deal of new matter. I have gained much information since I published that work and I hope to render it a really useful book." Belcher A3.2.
