Mellini's text describes the ephemeral architecture, including numerous emblems. It includes a mention of Vespucci (cf. p. 11-12) and accounts of maritime discoveries, including Peru (cf. p. 38). Mellini lists, in detail, all the artists involved with the project (pp. 113-119). Vincenzo Borghini is mentioned as the architect of the ephemeral structures. Among the other artists named are Alessandro Allori, Agnolo Bronzino, Giovanni Battista Adriani, Giovanni Francesco Cresci, Giovanni Maria Butteri, Zanobi Lastricati, Giovan Francesco De Servi, Francesco della Camilla, Bartolomeo Ammannati, Domenico Poggini, Vincenzo de Rossi, and Federigo Lamberto Fiammingo (i.e. Lambert Sustris).
Another ed. in 8vo with 128 p. was issued by Giunti in the same year (cf. Adams and Alden).
