The IX numbered, folded plates in the pt. 1 are bird's-eye views of ancient Syracuse, keyed to the text; the 2 single-leaf plates give the plan, section and elevation of the Temple of Minerva. Tav. III is signed in the plate: Franciscus Lomia incid., Syracusis 1612. Tav. II includes the author's coat of arms below the cartouche, and Tav. IX includes the arms of Philip III of Spain, to whom the work is dedicated. The 3 folded plates in pt. 2 depict medals. Woodcut head- and tail-pieces, decorated initials.
