Note: The event was held at the "Teatro de Signori Marchesi Obbizi" (p. 4). The captions identify the most prominent participants, many of them well known amateur stage directors and actors of Ferrara, including Roberto degli Obizzi who initiated the restauration of the antique theatre degli Intrepidi, also known as Teatro degli Obizzi (or di S. Lorenzo), Count Ippolito Bentivogli, a librettist and amateur actor at Teatro in Cortile (or della Capella o Bentivoglio), or Count Pinamonte Bonacossi who initiated the Teatro Bonacossi (or di S. Stefano). The stage designer Niccolò Estense Tassoni is also mentioned.
Illustrations: allegorical frontispiece engraved by Giuseppe Maria Mitelli (signed: GM Mitelli I.F.) and six folded engraved plates depicting scenes of the pageant, called "comparse", with captions referring to "Carnouale 1676". The plates are signed: Sig:r Carlo Pasetti Archi., Fran.co Ferrari Delin., GM. Mitelli Fe.
