"Douglas, under the pressure of his patron, Lord Bath (Sabin incorrectly refers to him as Lord Bute), wrote this letter to William Pitt and the Duke of Newcastle as the Seven Years' War was nearing its end, to press for England's acquisition of all of French Canada, which he considered to be much more important than Guadeloupe, Senegal and Goree"--bookseller's catalogue listing.
