Summary

This report presents elementary methods for determining the performance of high thrust rockets with emphasis on nuclear propulsion. Simple models are used to describe the vehicles and to evaluate the mission requirements. Performance comparisons, both in general and for specific missions, are made of various propulsion systems using typical values for the system parameters.
