Bath, Printed by R. Cruttwell and sold by Rivingtons [etc.] London, 1785.
Separate title-pages to each volume.
The preliminary matter includes the dedication, the editor's preface (giving a sketch of the history of the English Bible), a list of the various editions since 1526 (based on a ms. in the Lambeth Library), Bishop Wilson's preamble, the dedication to King James, the preface of the translators, the list of books, and a list of subscribers.
Dr. Thomas Wilson, Bishop of Sodor and Man, was responsible for the publication of some of the earliest books in Manx, including the Gospel of Saint Matthew in 1748. The notes in this edition are apparently taken from Wilson's "Abstract of the historical part of the Old Testament," 1735, and other writings. C. Cruttwell edited Wilson's complete works under the direction of the bishop's son, Thomas.
