Different versions of "Octavien", a French poem, which is found only in Bodleian ms. Hatton 100. The southern version, sometimes ascribed to Thomas Chestre, is from a Brit. Mus. ms. (Cotton Caligula AII); the northern version exists in two mss., which vary considerably from each other, Camb. Univ. ms. Ff. II, 38, and Lincoln Cathedra A5 (Thornton ms.) The three Middle English texts are given in full.
