- Summary
-
Various electrolytic tests were made using leach liquors derived from Blyvooruitzicht residues and synthetic solutions similar to the leach liquors. Using pure solutions a high grade uranium precipitate was obtained with less than one kilowatt hour of electric power per pound of U₃O₈. Electrolysis of leach liquors produced low-grade precipitates and consumed excessive amounts of power due to side reactions with impurities.
