Summary

In 1796, twelve-year-old Ben runs away from the farm and his harsh guardian. Ben's love of animals leads him to be hired to help care for Little Burma, the first elephant brought to America. Training and exhibiting Little Burma opens up a whole new world to Ben but his happy new life is threatened by a cruel and vindictive animal trainer who is determined to ruin Ben's boss.
