For a long time attributed to Dr. John Still, bishop of Bath and Wells, or to Dr. John Bridges, bishop of Oxford. Latterly, however, a strong case has been put forward in favor of William Stevenson, a fellow of Christ's college, probably from 1551 to 1561. cf. Pref.
