Interesting text despite the stereotypes "savages", "dusky", "These negroes intermarried with the Indians and the mongrel population was of the most degraded character (p. 169)." The stereotypes coexist with criticisms of wrongdoing by whites and government mismanagemen "It was a shameful crime (the enforced removal of the Indians) that brought Geronimo to the front, and gave him the centre of the stage for several years".
Possibly rub-on tattoos affixed to front pastedown.
D.j. heavily soiled and torn w/ significant losses; e.p. soiled; boards soiled and lightly worn at edges.
