Before the frontispiece is a leaf, on recto of which is a handsomely engraved copy of a letter accompanying a gold medal sent by the pope to the publishers, dated Rome, July 6, 1853. Frontispiece, representing Moses with the tables of the law, engraved by J.N. Gimbrede. Engraved title-pages to both Testaments also. Plates by Steinle, Schopin, Overbeck, and others. Indices follow both Testaments. Three leaves for family record before the New Testament. p. 1661-1671 contain tables. Bound in morocco, tooled, with gilt edges. Printed in parts from 1852 to 1854.
