Note: The correspondence between Appianus (the historian?) and Fronto (p. [190]-198) is in Greek with Latin translation at foot of text.
The 1st edition of Fronto appeared in Milan, 1815; the 2d, including the fragments of the Vatican, in Rome, 1823. The present edition is accompanied by the portraits of M. Aurelius (2) and those of Verus and Antoninus Pius, and by a specimen facsimile of the Vatican palimpsests.
Separated from an edition with half-title "Cicero De re publica. Frontonis et M. Aurelii epistulae. Symmachi reliquiae. Gargilii Martialis De hortis fragmenta", combining--with separate t.p. and pagination for each part--the several fragments of these authors previously edited separately from the palimpsest manuscripts discovered by A. Mai in the Ambrosiana at Milan, and in the Vatican library.
