This weekly journal was concerned with the problem of imprisonment for debt; it described incidents which occurred in the prisons and listed prisoners received and discharged. In addition, it published poetry, criticsm on the drama, listings of marriages and deaths and information on the Humane Society of New York and on a variety of other topics, including the arts and sciences.
